When Maureen Terrien, a Realtor for over thirty years in the Fort Lauderdale area, saw an ad for a photo contest for Lauderdale-By-The-Sea’s annual Visitor’s Guide cover for 2005 she headed to the beach with her new camera which was her first, a Nikon Cool Pix. She entered one photo and it won first place and that’s when she caught the ‘bug’. Maureen has since graduated to a Sony DSLR and a Lumix. When she moved to The Villages with her husband, Maureen joined The Villages Photography Club and has been learning the art of photography through its critiques and workshops and her passion has grown to creating ‘photo art’ digitally using Photoshop Elements. She enjoys transforming her pictures with watercolor and painterly effects. Besides her grandchildren and the beach, Maureen enjoys taking landscapes and iconic Villages scenes and is looking forward to expanding her photo opportunities through the club’s field trips.
