The Villages Photography Club met on February 20, 2008 at La Hacienda.
The meeting was called to order by Bob Athanasiou.  He let us in the Pledge
of Allegiance.   The treasurer, Paul Nistico reported we have $1,069.00 on hand.
Thanks to Harold Croft for his $100 donation for the donated camera.

Helene reported that plans for the Showcase are going well.  There will be a raffle of a
Canon Powershot camera and a 50/50 which  will be drawn at 2:30.  The competition is
Photographers Choice which the attendees will vote on.  There will be 3 $25 prizes awarded to
1st, 2nd and 3rd places. Helene will contact Jill Sherman to try to get our Showcase some more
publicity.  Sassy will be selling photography books with all proceeds going to Relay for Life.

There is a Tech Show this weekend at La Hacienda this Saturday Arne asked for members
to help him man the clubs table.

Arne passed out a questionnaire about feedback and sign up for next years programs.
The Contest Topics Committee will report next meeting on next years topics.

There was a discussion on the judging of the contests.  Many members want the photos to be
critiqued so they know why their photo gets the score it does.  This will also be a great learning
tool.  We did this for todays contest and the judges critiqued most of the photos.  It was well
received by the members.

Arne Thesen  gave a wonderful presentation on a Photographic Trip to Costa Rica.
